AHDP - method and equipment for efficient and safe treatment of plate-type heat exchangers of small and medium combined heat and power plants and in industry. It removes complex deposits with no harm to plate wall, which will result in the significant increase of heat transfer and reduction of accident rate. The method incorporation is aimed at the essential extension of service life of heat-exchanging equipment and reduction of waste of fuel.
After supplying compressed air to PTHE filled with mixture a bubbling process takes place inside – bubble aeration, agitation (or cold boiling) – bubbling and agitation. Air bubbles penetrate all hard-to-reach PTHE passages setting contents to motion. In this state the chemical elements of the compound affect contaminants consisting of oxides of metals, rust, grease, calcium carbonate and other types of nonorganic scale dissolving thereof. More complex deposits will be removed by the compound abrasive particles circulating under effect of air. The duration of cleaning process depends on the degree of PTHE contamination and equals on average 20-120 min. Air gradually expels compound together with cleaning waste of the lower circuit into the upper one in the process of boiling, and further – into a hose for cleaning waste dumping, after that the waste will get accumulated in a vessel for waste disposal. After finishing cleaning the waste will be disposed in a dedicated place. In case of high degree of PTHE contamination the cleaning cycles may be repeated. After completion of cleaning it is recommended to flush PTHE with running water feeding it to the upper circuit and draining from the lower one.
